Yoga Studio written by Soo jin, Raisa, Aki
We’d like to tell about Yoga class. Aki had taken a Yoga class in a school activity. When I did Yoga, I was so impressed. There were many people. Yoga is very popular in Toronto. I want to talk about that Yoga school which is called the Yoga Studio. It is located in Eglinton and Yorkville. For this presentation, we went to the Yoga Studio at Eglinton. We got some good information.
First of all, we’d like to introduce some information about the classes. The Yoga Studio has about 20 classes. You can practice traditional yoga postures to build strength and flexibility, with an attention to breath and alignment in all classes.
There are too many postions to explain them all. We will tell about some basic classes which are “Yoga Basics”, “Hatha”, “Pilates”, “Kripalu” and “Ashtanga”. “Yoga Basics”teaches you the basic postures and breathing techniques in order to familiarize you with concepts of yoga.
It’s suitable for students who have never encountered yoga before. One of the people who working at Yoga Studio recommended this class to us. “Hatha” is the classic approach to yoga that emphasizes physical detail, focus and breath awareness.“Pilates” aligns the skeletal system while stretching and strengthening the muscles.
The focus is on strengthening the body's core. It's known as the exercise that a lot of celebrities like Madonna do it. “Kripalu”is known as the 'yoga of the heart'. The intention is to create compassion and promote calm and balance. “Ashtanga” is often referred to as 'aerobic' or 'power' yoga. It’s an energetic series designed to build heat and detoxify the body.
