"History Of Art" - By Hyunhee.

Last Thursday, I went to the University Of Toronto to find the particular class. While I was looking for a class, I met a woman who is taking class in the History Of Art. Her name was Judy and she was 43 years old. She was not UofT student. She was just interested in art. So I asked her some questions.

1. Why did you choose this class?
When she was high school student, her major was painting. And now she is planning to build a small gallery. So she wanted to study more about the history of art in more detail before she builds her gallery.

2. How did you get information about this class before took that?
She got some information about the class by using the internet. While she was looking for art classes, she found that UofT has a continuing education program. And she could connect the art part on the UofT's hompage.

3. If someone who is not Canadian like a student studying abroad wants to take this class, can they also study at UofT?
She said, "Of course. Anyone who is interested in art can study here.". The class has about 10 students. Most students are middle-aged or retired. So now, they can enjoy life by studying what interests them.

4. How does your teacher teach "The history of Art"?
They study 4 hours a week. Every class, the teacher brings some pictures and paintings which are very famous from the past. They study two chapters, two periods of art a day. They also learn some famous painters in the each age. But teacher does not explain the basics of art, because most students are already familiar with art and the history of art. She recommended that if someone wants to take this class, they should study the foundation art course before joining this class. It would be a good idea to get to know the basics first.

It was very nice experience to me, but a little bit difficult to find interview partner.
If you want to know some information about 'The continuing education program', please connect this address http://learn.utoronto.ca/.

Thank you!
