I went to Walmart with a friend of mine yesterday to get a remote for my TV set because I broke mine last week. She convinced me to go to Walmart saying that Walmart's got one of the best return policies and warranties. They had a bunch of those and I picked the cheapest one made by GE. My friend told me it's the best brand in Canada. We went up to the cashier and asked about their return policy. Surprisingly, they said I could bring it back and ask for a 100% refund within 90 days even if it's opened. I've never come across a store with such a great return policy. So I was satisfied with the return policy. Then, I asked if there was any warranty on the remote. Unfortunately, there was no warranty, but she said I could call GE technical support and talk to a representative if I should have any problem. She didn't forget to mention that there's a phone number in the instruction booklet. Though there is some kind of buyers' insurance if I pay some extra money, she told me that it's just a waste of money since I could always bring it back and ask for a refund or an exchange with another product. My friend and I came back home happily. The first thing we did when we got home was trying the remote we just bought. It worked great, and it's still working.
