Sear's Customer Policies

Recently, I bought a cordless electric kettle, because it was on sale. While I was putting water into the kettle, I found the screws on the lid too loose. So I took it back to the store. I was worried because the kettle had been on sale. I asked clerk that after I bought the kettle on sale whether I can exchange or not. The clerk told me"Of course, we should return your purchase with your receipt within ninety days of purchase for exchange or refund. But if you do not have receipt, a SEAR's gift card would be issued at the lowest selling price offered in the previous ninety days." I requested exchange. Then I handed in the receipt, my photo ID card(SEAR's ID card, VISA, Mastercard etc.....), I was able to exchange new one.
After, I dropped in the rug department. I found a really beautiful rug, then I bought it at once.
Ten days later, I discovered that there were a lot of snags on the rug. It needed to be excanged. So I took it back to the store. I asked clerk to excange. He told me "We should excange and refund with your receipt within seven days. I think you missed the deadline, so you can excange for new one as long as you pay twenty five percent stocking charge. If you do not have the receipt, we can neither exchange or refund." I was really upset because I had the receipt but I missed the deadline. I had to pay five hundred dollars to exchange for new one because the real price of rug was two thousand dollars.
